About
In loving memory of my partner’s mom.
We planned a trip to Japan during sakura season before the pandemic ripped the opportunity away from us. In the end, we didn’t get to immerse in the beauty of sakura together, nor did we enjoy a bowl of authentic ramen. Though I have to admit, it would have been nice.

The Final Countdown
01 June 2021
Lovely Elena,
Perhaps you had an inkling today would be the day to leave;
well… it’s always a treat for us to have another day to give.
I can’t help but notice the pest infestation on the cactus you gave;
it’s disgusting persistence leaching a life we cannot save.
The wounds on your skin that pains from within;
along with some regrets left uncleaned.
Oh how we yearn for this journey to repave;
for more moments to be a shared embrace.
Hovering on the bed you slept;
all that is unshared, unrealised and unsaid.
Sigh of relief as tomorrow came;
a comfort to know you’re no longer in pain.
Goodbye Elena, goodnight now;
it was a pleasure to know you;
hope you feel the same too.
